Internationalization

Internationalization is about making your products more fit for an international audience. The simplist example would be providing a country field in a registeration and not assuming that your audience are all citizins of your country.

In these pages I'll try to provide information on how to achieve internationalization in web applications. Internationalization for the Arabic language and Arabic culture happens to be one of the most involving processes. I also happen to be a Kuwaiti and an Arabic speaker. I'll use the Arabic language for all the examples in the following pages.

Note that these pages are not done yet (hence, this unprofessional introduction). There is still more to be added. That doesn't mean, however, that they are not usable. I believe that the information in here will be valuable to those who are in the design phase of their web applications.

I hope that you will get the information you wanted in these pages. If you have any questions, remarks or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Current TODO:

  • Handling code pages.
  • Searching, indexing and handling non-English text.
